VOICE OF NATURE: State Minister of Culture and Tourism I Gede
Ardika rings the okokan, a traditional Balinese wooden bell, at
the Bajra Sandhi Monument in Denpasar, Bali. The minister rang
the wooden bell to mark the opening of the month-long 26th Bali
Arts Week on Sunday. This year's arts festival is themed the
"Voice of Nature: Peace and Beauty in Diversity".

REGATTA IN SURABAYA: Some 70 decorated boats sail along the
Kalimas River in Surabaya as part of the Ujung Galuh Expedition
Regatta. Ujung Galuh is the old name for the East Java provincial
capital. The festival was held on Saturday to mark the official
711th anniversary of Surabaya and to support the local
administration's effort to make the Kalimas River a tourist
attraction.
