JAKARTA — PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), recorded oil and gas production that exceeded targets in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting a positive trend in the performance of the national upstream oil and gas sector. This achievement was presented at the Special Edition of the BASO IGA PHI forum in Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026), attended by more than 40 journalists from various national media. “From January to March 2026, the company successfully recorded oil production above target, with a realisation of more than 120 percent,” said PHI Senior Manager of Relations Handri Ramdhani, in a press statement quoted on Sunday (26/4/2026). “Positive performance was also shown in gas production, with a realisation of around 104 percent above target,” he added. PHI, through its subsidiaries PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga, and PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur, manages upstream oil and gas operations in the Kalimantan region, including assets from PT Pertamina EP and PHE in that area. PHE, as the parent company of PHI, manages production of around 1.03 million BOEPD through intensive drilling. The government has targeted oil production in the 2026 state budget at 610,000 BOPD. This target is supported by PHE’s plan to drill 800 new wells and the offering of 116 new oil and gas blocks to investors. PHI Manager of Communication, Relation & CID Dony Indrawan presented material titled “Tips for Successfully Managing Change in Life” at the forum, explaining stages to face the transition process, from understanding fears, testing expectations and beliefs, exploring control and choices, to seeking information and self-care. PHI also emphasised the importance of maintaining harmonious relationships with the media to support the delivery of accurate information to the public. “We hope that the rapport we have built so far becomes collaboration and synergy for sustainable operations,” said Handri.
