MANILA (DPA): President Joseph Estrada's administration is expending all possible assistance, including legal services, to three overseas Filipino workers implicated in the killing of a compatriot in Kuwait, a spokesman said on Tuesday.
Presidential spokesman Jerry Barican said the victim was identified as Rocaya Bangon while her suspected killer was identified as Danilo Espino, currently in detention.
Two other Filipino overseas workers, Edna Perido and Pedro Ramos, are facing investigation in connection with the case. Barican said the Department of Foreign Affairs "has instructed the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait to provide all possible assistance, including the hiring of a defense counsel for the accused Espino, and possibly Perido and Ramos".
Espino has reportedly confessed to killing Bangon, Barican said.
