PHEV Cars Gain Momentum: List of Bestselling Models in April 2026

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Sales of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in Indonesia are beginning to show a positive trend, as evidenced by the increase in wholesales distribution in April 2026. According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), the total PHEVs sold during the period reached 569 units. This figure rose 60.3% compared to March 2026, which only recorded 355 units. Cumulatively, PHEV sales in Indonesia from January to April 2026 have reached 2,089 units. This achievement has surged significantly compared to the same period last year. The increase in PHEV sales is inseparable from the growing number of model options available in the Indonesian market, particularly from Chinese brands. In addition to offering electrification technology, several models also come with more competitive prices than before. In April 2026, the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH became the bestselling PHEV model with sales of 229 units. This model outperformed its competitors in the similar segment by a considerable margin. The second position was occupied by the Wuling Eksion with 183 units, followed by the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH with 52 units.
