PHE's 'Lensa Energi' Programme Provides Early Detection of Vision Problems for Schoolchildren
PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi OSES (PHE OSES) have organised the SHU Ecovation Day ‘Lensa Energi’ programme. This is a corporate initiative to support eye health through the early detection of vision problems and the provision of optical aids for school-age children in the company’s operational areas.
The programme, themed ‘Healthy Eyes, Active Learning, Great Achievements’, was held on Pulau Kelapa, Kepulauan Seribu Administrative Regency, on Wednesday (22/7/2026). It targeted 150 fifth and sixth grade students from SDN 01 Pulau Kelapa and SDN 02 Pulau Kelapa, providing free eye examinations and donating glasses to students in need.
The Lensa Energi activity was attended by the Regent of the Kepulauan Seribu Administrative Regency, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan, and his staff, PHE’s Director of Risk Management, Whisnu Bahriansyah, and the General Manager of PHE OSES, represented by the PHE OSES Manager of Projects, along with health workers from the North Kepulauan Seribu Community Health Centre.
Since the morning, the atmosphere at SDN 01 Pulau Kelapa was filled with the enthusiasm of students undergoing a series of eye health checks. Their curiosity turned to smiles when they learned the condition of their eyesight. Opticians promptly shaped, cut, and fitted lenses into frames for the students who required them.
Whisnu Bahriansyah stated that Lensa Energi is a form of implementing PHE’s sustainability commitment to creating measurable social impact across all its operational areas. ‘Currently, 30 per cent of the child population suffers from myopia and requires glasses. Through this programme, we want to help children see more clearly so they have equal opportunities to learn, develop, and achieve their dreams,’ he said.
