PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) recorded oil and gas production of 935,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD) by the end of the first half of 2026. This comprised oil production of 459,000 barrels per day (MBOPD) and gas production of 2,756 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, Hermansyah Y Nasroen, stated that the operational performance in the first semester of 2026 was the result of the commitment of all PHE personnel to conducting upstream oil and gas operations safely, reliably, efficiently, and sustainably. This performance was supported by the implementation of various well development and maintenance programmes that proceeded according to plan. On the exploration front, PHE continued to strengthen efforts to find new oil and gas resources. Up to June 2026, the company had completed the drilling of 9 exploration wells, 189 kilometres of 2D seismic surveys, and 2,848 square kilometres of 3D seismic surveys. These activities resulted in the discovery of 108 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE) in contingent resources (2C) and the addition of 24.9 MMBOE in proven reserves (P1). Hermansyah said this achievement demonstrates PHE’s consistency in executing its strategy to maintain production sustainability while strengthening reserve security through continuous exploration activities. He added that PHE will continue to optimise the management of upstream oil and gas assets by accelerating the execution of drilling programmes, applying technology, and improving operational efficiency to provide sustainable added value for the company and the country. He concluded that the various achievements recorded up to the middle of the year provide a good foundation for completing the 2026 work programme, and the company is optimistic it can maintain positive performance through disciplined programme execution, sound risk management, and collaboration among all stakeholders in supporting the achievement of national oil and gas production targets.
