PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, has reaffirmed the importance of synergies among various parties, efficiency in investments, and regulatory support to drive an increase in national oil and gas production.

This was stated by PHE’s Director of Investment and Business Development, Dannif Danusaputro, at the Energy Council Jakarta 2026 forum titled “Breaking Into Indonesia: What Investors Need To Know,” held in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

At the forum, Dannif explained that efforts to increase oil and gas production must be carried out with an effective and efficient approach.

He also highlighted the important role of the government, particularly through the provision of fiscal incentives, given that many working areas still require sustainable investment.

“Collaboration is the key. We continue to explore studies and joint exploration initiatives to increase national production capacity,” he said.

As an operator and contractor in the upstream oil and gas sector, PHE routinely conducts assessments of investment feasibility and project economic limits.

Support from regulators, especially SKK Migas, is considered very helpful in strengthening these steps. In addition, the company also supports government policies in optimising production from existing wells and structures.

As part of the Pertamina Group, PHE manages various working areas with extensive coverage. However, not all assets have adequate economic viability under current conditions.

Therefore, cooperation with local and international partners becomes a strategic step, especially in managing marginal assets.
