PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) achieved oil and gas production of 1.032 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MMBOEPD) throughout 2025. Corporate Secretary Hermansyah Y. Nasroen announced the results during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, stating the achievement was supported by the implementation of various massive field development programmes. “Achieving production of more than 1 million BOEPD and discovering over 1 billion BOE in new resources demonstrates PHE’s commitment to maintaining national energy security,” Hermansyah said in a statement on Monday. He detailed that the oil and gas production consisted of 556 thousand barrels of oil per day (MBOPD) and 2,757 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. Throughout 2025, PHE completed the drilling of 887 exploitation wells, workover activities on 1,288 wells, and well services on 37,266 wells. On the exploration side, the company continued to strengthen efforts to discover new resources to ensure long-term production sustainability. By the end of 2025, 20 exploration wells had been drilled, 2,931 kilometres of 2D seismic surveys had been conducted, and 855 square kilometres of 3D seismic surveys had been completed. These exploration efforts resulted in the discovery of contingent resources (2C) amounting to 1,097.43 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE). A major contribution came from a non-conventional oil and gas discovery in the Rokan Working Area, totalling 724.22 million barrels of oil (MMBO). Additionally, PHE recorded an increase in proven reserves (P1) of 314 MMBOE. This reserve addition was obtained through merger and acquisition (M&A) activities, including contributions from assets in Algeria, namely the MLN Phase 5 project in Block 405a. PHE also recorded a net profit of US$2.175 billion in 2025. All these achievements were supported by PHE’s affiliated entities, including Regional 1 (Sumatra), Regional 2 (Java), Regional 3 (Kalimantan), Regional 4 (East Java and Eastern Indonesia), Regional 5 (International), Elnusa, Badak LNG, and Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia. “This performance also reflects the company’s continuous efforts to increase production while strengthening reserves and resources to support future growth,” he said.
