Phased Opening of Kalikangkung Toll Gate to Ease Eid Holiday Traffic Congestion

The phased opening of the Kalikangkung toll gate in Semarang, Central Java, was implemented to ease the density of homecoming traffic during the Eid holiday period. According to provisional data from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate Security Post (Pospam), approximately 21,329 vehicles heading homeward on the Trans-Java Toll Road’s Semarang-Batang section from the direction of Jakarta entered the Kalikangkung toll gate bound for various regions in Central Java and East Java by 5:00 PM on the fourth day before Eid. In response to this volume of traffic, PT Jasa Marga Semarang-Batang implemented the phased opening of toll gates to alleviate the traffic congestion of vehicles using the toll route.
