The pharmaceutical and medical device distribution industry is assessed to still show resilience amid challenging economic conditions. This is reflected in the performance of several healthcare companies that continue to record revenue and profit growth in the first quarter of 2026, driven by strengthened distribution, partnership expansions, and operational efficiencies.

PT Medela Potentia Tbk (MDLA), for instance, recorded net sales of Rp4.03 trillion up to 31 March 2026, an increase from Rp3.9 trillion in the same period the previous year. This growth also propelled the net profit for the period to rise by 7.4% to Rp119.32 billion.

The largest contributor still comes from pharmaceutical product sales reaching Rp3.26 trillion. Meanwhile, medical device sales contributed Rp394.5 billion and health products Rp380.2 billion.

Investor Relations Director of PT Medela Potentia Tbk, Harris Lesmana, stated that the company continues to strengthen the foundation for growth through the development of distribution infrastructure, the addition of new principals, and the exploration of strategic collaborations in the medical device sector.

“The company continues to strengthen the foundation for growth through the development of distribution infrastructure, the addition of principals, and the exploration of strategic collaborations in the medical device business with global partners to bring high-quality products manufactured domestically,” said Harris.

As part of its expansion strategy, the company also plans to inaugurate a new building and warehouse for the PT Anugrah Argon Medica branch in Medan to expand pharmaceutical distribution reach in western Indonesia. In addition, in the first quarter of 2026, the company added three new principals to strengthen its business portfolio and competitive position.

On the other hand, the company also strengthens the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. In the environmental aspect, the company has begun using electric vehicle fleets for pharmaceutical distribution and continues operations with 106 electric motorcycles in 15 branches across 13 cities.

In the social aspect, the company continues its free health check programme in various regions as part of efforts to increase public health literacy and prevent chronic diseases. Meanwhile, in the governance aspect, the company states its commitment to consistently applying Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles across all operational lines.

In the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on Tuesday (12/5/2026), the company also approved a cash dividend distribution of Rp176.56 billion or equivalent to Rp12.6 per share. In addition, shareholders approved changes to the board of directors’ composition by appointing Juliwaty as President Director, replacing Krestijanto Pandji.
