Pharaoh's Chair Auctioned by the Attorney General's Asset Recovery Agency Fetches Rp 80 Million

An replica of a Pharaoh’s chair auctioned by the Attorney General’s Office Asset Recovery Agency (BPA Kejagung) has sold. The confiscated item from the case fetched almost double the auction price.

“Pharaoh’s chair, alhamdulillah, has been sold,” said Kuntadi, head of BPA Kejagung, at the BPA Kejagung office in Jakarta on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

Kuntadi said the replica chair sold for more than Rp 80 million. “The price is Rp 80 million plus. And that’s quite good in value,” he said.

In BPA Fair’s auction information, the Pharaoh’s chair replica started at Rp 43,917,000. The deposit required from bidders was Rp 10 million.

The chair is an asset seized from the convicted individual in the ASABRI corruption case, Jimmy Sutopo. The chair replica appears in yellow-gold and features Egyptian-style engravings resembling reliefs on the tomb of a Pharaoh. There are also carvings resembling a lion’s head on the chair’s arms. A pair of chairs was displayed in the exhibition area.
