Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) has received the Indonesia Excellence Good Corporate Governance (GCG) Awards 2026 from Warta Ekonomi for its implementation of corporate governance deemed to support national energy diversification and transition.

In a statement received in Jakarta on Monday, PGN received the award in the Indonesia Excellence Good Corporate Governance Ethics in Supporting National Energy Diversification and Transition – Oil and Gas Category.

PGN’s Risk Management Director, Eri Surya Kelana, said the award was the result of the company’s consistency in applying good corporate governance amid business challenges influenced by global geopolitical dynamics and developments in artificial intelligence (AI).

“This award is the result of PGN’s consistency in running its business with integrity and transparency. 2026 brings a new business landscape for PGN as a consequence of global geopolitical fragmentation as well as AI that could disrupt the company’s operational activities,” said Eri.

According to him, PGN is responding to these challenges by strengthening data security, accountability in the use of technology, and improving internal digital competencies without setting aside the principles of good corporate governance.

PGN is also continuing to integrate AI technology, data analytics and other digital technologies into its core business processes and customer services.

To mitigate digital risks, the company is strengthening cybersecurity across human resources, processes and technology, as well as improving information and communication technology governance in accordance with applicable regulations. Eri noted that in 2026 PGN’s cyber security system also achieved a 100 per cent security level.

Eri said digitalisation has been applied across various PGN business lines, from asset operations and maintenance, network operations, to customer service management.

In addition to strengthening governance and digital transformation, PGN is also continuing to develop various projects supporting the energy transition, including the expansion of the natural gas pipeline network, optimisation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure, and the development of the biomethane business as part of efforts to enter the low-carbon business.

According to Eri, the implementation of sustainable corporate governance is one of PGN’s assets to enhance its competitiveness while facing the dynamics of the energy industry.

“PGN is committed to maintaining the highest business ethics standards in order to drive clean, transparent and integral company growth in delivering natural gas services to the Indonesian people,” he said.
