PGN targets nine natural gas installation points in DIY this year

Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persio) Tbk (PGN) is targeting the completion of natural gas installations at nine points in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) within this year, as part of an effort to expand the natural gas network and establish national energy sovereignty.

PGN’s Director of Infrastructure & Technology, Hery Murahmanta, stated that the company is currently developing natural gas requirements for commercial industries, which is expected to facilitate the expansion of connections to residential areas and households.

“There are nine (installation points) within the commercial business development in the Central Java region, specifically in DIY,” Hery said in Yogyakarta on Thursday.

The nine locations include Ambarukmo Plaza Hotel, McDonald’s Adisucipto, McDonald’s Kaliurang, Pizza Hut Adisucipto, Pizza Hut Kaliurang, Kurnia Seafood, Zona Seafood, KoomBahYah Laundry, and one other hotel. He aims for all nine points to be installed by the end of the year.

According to Hery, residential areas in DIY that already have gas installations are located in the Sleman Regency, specifically within the Depok district, covering the villages of Caturtunggal, Karanggayam, Mrican, Pringwulung, Kocoran, Manggung, Gandok, Karangwuni, Condongcatur, Kaliwaru, and Soropadan. “In Sleman, there are already a total of 4,500 household connections,” Hery added.
