PGN boosts MSMEs through Suadesa Festival 2026
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), the gas subholding of Pertamina, is encouraging micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), to grow their businesses through the Suadesa Festival 2026.
PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman said the Suadesa Festival 2026 is the company’s effort to promote community empowerment through the development of a sustainable local economic ecosystem, including the introduction and utilisation of natural gas through new infrastructure.
Carrying the theme “Spirit of Independence for Village MSMEs that are Self-reliant, Sovereign, Fair & Prosperous”, the festival, planned for 22–23 August 2026, will provide a space for the public to enjoy various activities while supporting the growth of MSMEs and local economic potential.
“We see that villages have great potential to become drivers of economic growth through MSMEs, community creativity, culture, and local potential,” Fajriyah said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Therefore, she continued, the Suadesa Festival 2026 is presented as a collaborative space so that the community becomes the main actor while opening wider access for MSMEs to develop through the use of competitive, environmentally friendly energy.
Over two days, the Suadesa Festival will feature four main programmes: the Suadesa MSME Market, the Suadesa Stage, Suadesa Workshops, and Suadesa Cares.
Through the Suadesa MSME Market, local business actors can market culinary products, crafts, fashion, services, and creative products while expanding their networks and market opportunities.
On that occasion, Fajriyah stated that in addition to community empowerment, the Suadesa Festival serves as a means to introduce Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cylinders as an energy solution for MSMEs and the commercial sector located beyond the reach of gas pipeline infrastructure.
“We hope this initiative can become a momentum to strengthen togetherness while encouraging the community to develop the potential in their surroundings,” she said.
At the event, the Suadesa Stage will present traditional art performances by local communities as well as performances by local and national musicians, such as Jogja 90S, Jikustik, and The Rain.
Visitors only need to bring three used plastic bottles to enjoy the series of performances as part of the call to reduce plastic waste.
Meanwhile, for social and environmental awareness, the Suadesa Cares activities include tree planting, the sale of cheap basic necessities, strengthening village waste banks, and distributing aid for earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
