PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) has once again achieved recognition in sustainability and innovation by securing six awards at the Annual Pertamina Quality Award (APQA) 2026. The achievement demonstrates the company’s consistency in applying principles of sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement across all operational lines.

In the event themed ‘Elevating Talent, Accelerating Innovation, Delivering Enterprise Value’, PGE won first place for The Best Quality Performance, The Best System Assurance, The Best Value Creation Achievement, and The Best Category Achievement. The company also received third place for The Best KOMET Influencer and the Sustainability Excellence for Operational Unit award through PGE Kamojang Area.

PGE President Director Ahmad Yani stated that the awards reflect a strong culture of quality and innovation that has become part of the company’s operations, from headquarters to operational areas. ‘For us, innovation is not just about winning competitions, but must create added value and open new revenue streams for the company. Going forward, we will continue to encourage innovations that support sustainable business growth while strengthening PGE’s role as a geothermal centre of excellence,’ Ahmad Yani said.

The success is supported by the implementation of the Geothermal Integrated Management System (GIMS) based on ISO standards applied across all operational lines. The system is reinforced by an integrated work procedure system and knowledge management that forms part of the company’s continuous improvement culture. According to Yani, the integrated system enables company operations to run more effectively, reliably, and safely, in line with globally applicable sustainability principles.

PGE Operations Director Andi Joko Nugroho emphasised that the awards serve as motivation for all company personnel to continuously improve the quality of innovation and operations. ‘What is more important than winning awards is how we maintain and continuously improve these achievements. At PGE, innovation is not merely a programme or obligation, but part of how we work. Therefore, we continue to encourage innovations that not only improve operational performance but also create real added value and open new business opportunities for the company,’ Andi said.

At APQA 2026, three PGE innovation groups also achieved Platinum predicate in the Project Collaboration Improvement (PC Prove) category. The KATRILI group received an award for innovation in utilising geothermal fluid silica deposits to create Booster Nanosilika Cair, enhancing geothermal operation reliability in the Lahendong Area. The SIBERIAN GUYS group won for the AUTOCYD (Autonomous Cyber Defense) innovation aimed at strengthening the company’s cyber security system. The i-TECS group was recognised for digitising work procedure monitoring through the Integrated Technology for Governance System (i-TECS) application.

These innovations reflect the company’s commitment to improving operational reliability, strengthening governance, and accelerating digital transformation to support more efficient and competitive geothermal energy management. Beyond innovation achievements, the company’s operational performance also shows a positive trend. Throughout the first quarter of 2026, PGE recorded electricity production of 1,370 gigawatt hours (GWh), an increase of 15.22% compared to the same period the previous year.

PGE currently manages 15 geothermal working areas with an installed capacity reaching 1,932 megawatts (MW). Of this total, 727 MW is managed directly by the company, while 1,205 MW is managed through joint operation contract schemes. This capacity represents approximately 70% of Indonesia’s total installed geothermal capacity. PGE also continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. The company recorded an ESG score of 7.1 from Sustainalytics, placing it as a company with very low ESG risk. Additionally, PGE is the only Indonesian company included in the Top 50 Global ESG Companies 2025 list.
