PGE Secures US$75 Million Loan from Bank Mizuho Indonesia
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) signed a Trade Facility Agreement with PT Bank Mizuho Indonesia at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/07/2026). The facility, valued at up to US$75 million, is provided on a clean basis, reflecting a high level of confidence in PGE’s risk profile and financial performance.
The omnibus facility encompasses a non-cash loan and trade facility without commitment, including bank guarantees, standby letters of credit (SBLC), import letters of credit (L/C), and a revolving loan facility. It is designed to support PGE’s operational requirements and the development of its geothermal projects.
Fransetya Hutabarat, Finance Director of PGE, described the agreement as a strategic step in broadening the company’s funding access while strengthening financing flexibility to underpin its long-term growth agenda. “We appreciate the trust and support of Bank Mizuho Indonesia through this facility. It will support our operational needs and future geothermal project development,” he stated on Friday (24/7).
Heru Gautama Hatman, Marketing Director of PT Bank Mizuho Indonesia, said the collaboration represents the bank’s commitment to supporting clean energy development in Indonesia and building a long-term partnership with PGE. “We hope this cooperation is not merely a financing facility, but also a form of support for PGE’s ambition to become a world-class geothermal company,” he added.
The partnership with Bank Mizuho Indonesia, part of one of Japan’s largest financial services groups, further strengthens PGE’s green funding ecosystem, which already includes sustainable financing instruments and collaborations with various international financial institutions. As a world-leading geothermal producer and centre of excellence, PGE continues to prioritise a sound and prudent funding strategy to ensure the sustainability of its geothermal investments, targeting 1 GW of independently managed installed capacity by 2028 and 1.8 GW by 2034.
