PGE Accelerates Geothermal Projects from Lumut Balai 3 to Ulubelu

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) has commenced drilling its first exploration well for the Lumut Balai Unit 3 Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) project in Muara Enim, South Sumatra, on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. Director of Exploration and Development at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO), Edwil Suzandi, described the successful exploration at PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 3 as a significant achievement for PGE in developing sustainable energy sources to support the energy transition and national electricity supply. In its efforts to become a leading global geothermal company, PGE is also increasing geothermal exploration within its working areas, including the Gunung Tiga Ulubelu project in Lampung and preparations for drilling in the Kotamobagu area, North Sulawesi. PGE ensures that its geothermal development projects meet international standards, from planning through to project certainty.
