PFII Bill to be Ratified Tomorrow, Completed in 3 Months as Mandated by P2SK Law
The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and the government have agreed to pass the International Financial Centre (PFII) Bill into law during a plenary session tomorrow, Tuesday (21/7/2026). All factions in Commission XI approved the PFII Bill and have provided their responses to the government. “We can conclude that the eight factions in Commission XI of the DPR RI have approved the PFII Bill to be brought to the second level of discussion in the DPR RI plenary meeting, which God willing will be held tomorrow, 21 July 2026. Can this be agreed upon?” said Misbakhun, who chaired the session. According to Misbakhun, the completion of this bill is in accordance with the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening (P2SK) Law. “We completed this within the time mandated by the P2SK Law, which is to finish it within three months,” Misbakhun stated. He also confirmed that the approval for it to be enacted into law will take place tomorrow during the Plenary Session. “Hopefully, the approval tomorrow at the second level will proceed to the next process, which is to the government to be approved as a law,” he said. According to the DPR, the bill will consist of 10 chapters and 73 articles. Commission XI has been intensively discussing the PFI Bill since 2 July 2026 through working meetings with the government. Thus, practically, this bill was intensively deliberated for less than 20 days.
