Pezeshkian: Missile Arsenal Prevents Iran from Suffering Gaza's Fate
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that Tehran will never negotiate over its defence and deterrence capabilities, claiming the country’s missile arsenal has prevented it from suffering the same fate as Gaza. Speaking at a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, Pezeshkian stated Iran would not discuss its defence capabilities with anyone under any circumstances. On Tuesday, he firmly rejected any possibility of talks regarding Iran’s military capabilities, emphasising that the nation’s defensive strength is essential for safeguarding its sovereignty from external threats. The president stated that Tehran’s military power has served as a deterrent against aggression, dismissing calls for the country’s defence programme to be subject to negotiations. “The Islamic Republic of Iran will never, under any circumstances, engage in talks with any party regarding its defence and deterrence capabilities,” Pezeshkian stressed. He also criticised Western countries that portray themselves as defenders of human rights, arguing that their claims are inconsistent with their actions.
