Pezeshkian: Khamenei Urged End to 'No War, No Peace' Situation

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that the country’s late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, repeatedly emphasised in closed-door meetings the necessity of ending the ‘no war, no peace’ situation between Iran and the United States. Speaking at a National Industry and Mining Day commemoration ceremony, Pezeshkian praised Khamenei’s role in shaping Iran’s strategic direction, according to the official IRNA news agency. ‘The supreme leader stressed in private meetings the need to end the condition of no war, no peace,’ Pezeshkian said. He added that Iran entered negotiations ‘based on honour, wisdom, and expediency’ and that diplomatic institutions would never retreat from fighting for the rights of the Iranian people. The comments follow a statement by Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, who said Tehran has received proposals from mediators aimed at de-escalating tensions with Washington. The diplomatic efforts continue despite ongoing military strikes between the two nations, which have intensified in recent days, even after a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding was signed in June to end hostilities and reach a sustainable peace agreement.
