JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Petrokimia Gresik is preparing a stock of subsidised fertiliser amounting to 219,648 tonnes for the April-September 2026 planting season amid global dynamics impacting the supply chain of raw materials for the global fertiliser industry.

Petrokimia Gresik’s President Director, Daconi Khotob, stated that the availability of this stock serves as one of the indicators of the company’s readiness to maintain production continuity while ensuring fertiliser is available to farmers throughout the planting season.

“Changes in global conditions and potential disruptions to international logistics routes are concerns for the global fertiliser industry. However, Petrokimia Gresik continues to strive for optimal production so that fertiliser availability for farmers remains secure,” Daconi said in a press release on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

These steps are being taken through the optimisation of the company’s production and operational facilities, strengthening of subsidised fertiliser stocks, and support from the national distribution network of the Pupuk Indonesia Group.

Additionally, the company is reinforcing anticipatory measures against various global dynamics that could potentially affect the supply chain of raw materials for the global fertiliser industry.

As a precautionary measure, Petrokimia Gresik is strengthening its raw material procurement strategy through diversification of source countries for phosphate rock, potash, and sulphur supplies.

On the other hand, the company is optimising long-term procurement contracts and accelerating the securing of raw material stocks for the next six to twelve months to maintain production continuity.

“On the operational side, Petrokimia Gresik is ensuring the readiness of production and operational facilities so that fertiliser production continues to run optimally to support national planting season needs,” Daconi added.

As of 10 May 2026, the available subsidised fertiliser stock consists of 32,054 tonnes of subsidised urea, 166,324 tonnes of NPK Phonska, 16,611 tonnes of Petroganik organic fertiliser, 2,720 tonnes of ZA, and 1,939 tonnes of SP-36.

Daconi further noted that the government has implemented various changes to the governance of subsidised fertiliser distribution to facilitate farmers’ access to subsidised fertiliser.

These changes include the simplification of regulations from 145 rules into one parent regulation through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 6 of 2025 on the Governance of Subsidised Fertiliser, which was then refined through Perpres 113/2025.

Additionally, the government has issued Minister of Agriculture Regulation (Permentan) Number 15 of 2025 as part of its implementing rules.
