Petrokimia Gresik Prepares 219,000 Tonnes of Subsidised Fertiliser to Support Planting Season

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Petrokimia Gresik, a Solusi Agroindustri company and member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, has prepared a stock of subsidised fertiliser amounting to 219,648 tonnes to support the April-September planting season.
Petrokimia Gresik’s President Director, Daconi Khotob, stated that the company has prepared various strategic steps to maintain production continuity while ensuring the availability of subsidised fertiliser for farmers during the planting season.
“The availability of this stock is one of the indicators of the company’s readiness to maintain production continuity and ensure fertiliser availability for farmers amid global dynamics impacting the supply chain of raw materials for the global fertiliser industry,” he said in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Various steps are being taken through the optimisation of the company’s production and operational facilities to maintain fertiliser production continuity, strengthening subsidised fertiliser stocks, and supporting the national distribution network of the Pupuk Indonesia Group so that fertiliser is available on time for farmers.
To this end, the state-owned enterprise is strengthening its raw material procurement strategy, including diversifying the countries of origin for phosphate rock, potash, and sulphur supplies, as well as optimising the supply of sulphuric acid from domestic production.
In addition, it is also optimising long-term procurement contracts and accelerating the securing of raw material stocks for the next six to twelve months to maintain production continuity.
Meanwhile, as of 10 May 2026, the availability of subsidised fertiliser stock consists of 32,054 tonnes of subsidised Urea, 166,324 tonnes of NPK Phonska, 16,611 tonnes of Petroganik organic fertiliser, 2,720 tonnes of ZA, and 1,939 tonnes of SP-36.
“We hope that farmers do not need to worry; the April-September planting season can be carried out optimally,” said Daconi.
According to him, the government has made many changes to the governance of subsidised fertiliser distribution to provide ease of access for farmers to these production inputs.
These changes include the simplification of regulations, from 145 rules reduced to one main regulation, namely Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 6 of 2025 on the Governance of Subsidised Fertilisers, which was then refined with Perpres 113/2025.
This simplification supports the smooth distribution of fertiliser throughout Indonesia, making it increasingly effective and on time.
He stated that the national subsidised fertiliser distribution realisation as of 10 May 2026 reached 3.46 million tonnes or 35% of the total 2026 allocation of 9.85 million tonnes. This realisation is also recorded 35% higher compared to the same period in 2025.
He also assured that the PI Group is committed to conducting strict supervision to ensure that Recipients of Fertilisers at Delivery Points (PPTS) discipline in implementing the Highest Retail Price (HET) which has been lowered by the Government by 20% for all types of subsidised fertilisers.
Currently, there are many irresponsible individuals offering fake products, usually with the lure of cheaper prices.
