Petrokimia Gresik Maintains Gold PROPER Rating for Four Years

Petrokimia Gresik, a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, has successfully retained the Gold PROPER rating for four consecutive years, thanks to proficient environmental management. The flagship environmental management programme that has contributed to this achievement is the Tawangargo Smart-Eco Farming Village (TAMENG) programme in Tawangargo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency, East Java. The TAMENG programme serves as a solution to enhance horticultural productivity using a Climate Smart Agriculture approach. This programme is now being continuously developed by Petrokimia Gresik together with assisted farmers, transforming TAMENG into a modern and environmentally friendly horticultural centre. Currently, Petrokimia Gresik continues to make breakthroughs with eco-friendly innovations, including the use of solar cells to power various agricultural tools and machines (alsintan), such as water pumps, drip irrigation, sprinklers, and others. Furthermore, Petrokimia Gresik has equipped TAMENG with an agricultural waste processing facility to produce liquid organic fertiliser and biological agents that can be utilised for agricultural cultivation. This achievement will motivate the Petrokimia Gresik team to continue innovating in creating breakthrough innovations for sustainable environmental management. Thus, the environmental management standards implemented by Petrokimia Gresik are improving even further.
