Petrojaya gets int'l certificate

JAKARTA (JP): Plasterboard manufacturer PT Petrojay Boral Plasterboard has accepted an ISO 9002 certificate from SGS International.

"Nine months of hard work by the management and staff of Petrojay Boral has finally paid off," Raymond Widjaya, chairman of the firm's ISO Management Team, said in a statement yesterday. "Of course, the attainment of the certification is only the first step in our effort to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to quality," he added.

He said the ISO 9002 certificate was awarded to the firm on Sept. 18.

Raymond said he was particularly proud of the fact that all departments in his firm had participated in making the achievement of the certification possible.

Mel Anderson, Petrojay Boral's president, said the firm is expecting to start constructing its second factory, in Cilegon, West Java, by the end of this month. The project, all part of its effort to increase its productivity, is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year. (jsk)
