Petrogres, Tectona Livoli champions

JAKARTA: Petrogres of East Java won the women's competition of the 2005 Volleyball League (Livoli) after crushing Tectona Bandung 3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-20) on Wednesday.

Petrogres manager Eko Priyono said his team never let the opposition get into the match in the amateur volleyball league.

"We took the lead from the outset. Tectona was able to level in the second game, but it was unable to take the lead," Eko said.

Tectona coach Kuswandi Paweka said his team peaked in the semifinals and did not play their best in the final.

"We make too many mistakes," he said.

There was better news for Tectona in the men's final, with the team defeating DPPK 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-20). -- JP
