Petrofin expands regional fleet to optimise fuel distribution
Makassar (ANTARA) - PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN) has added dozens of regional vehicles and deployed more than 500 Tank Truck Drivers (AMT) to optimise the distribution of Fuel (BBM) in Makassar.
“This step is a form of coordination and support from Elnusc Petrofin to PT Pertamina Patra Niaga to secure the supply to all gas stations (SPBU),” said the Manager of Corporate Communication & Relation of PT Elnusa Petrofin, Putiarsa Bagus Wibowo, in a statement in Makassar on Sunday.
Elnusa Petrofin has stationed over 500 drivers in the Makassar region, a formation that includes 463 regular personnel now reinforced by dozens of additional support personnel. This optimisation of distribution is also supported by the strengthening of resources from various regions.
To ensure that distribution cycles run at maximum capacity 24 hours a day, Putiarsa stated that Elnusa Petrofin has added approximately 30 support personnel from various operational areas across Indonesia, ranging from Sumatra and Kalimantan to Eastern Indonesia, including Bitung and Jayapura.
In terms of the fleet, a total of 119 tank trucks with various load capacities are being operated on distribution routes. This number includes 10 support tank trucks from the Kendari, Kolaka, and Donggala regions, as well as 19 spot charter tank truck units specifically operated to reduce delivery lead times to gas stations.
According to Putiarsa, this measure was taken to anticipate the increasing dynamics of fuel demand in Makassar and its surrounding areas. He noted that the company’s operations are currently focused on distributing fuel from depot facilities to ensure it arrives more quickly and evenly to the public.
Through synergy with Pertamina Patra Niaga and the presence of additional fleets in the field, the distribution of fuel supplies in the Makassar region and its surroundings is being continuously ensured to flow smoothly.
“With this 24-hour non-stop logistics mitigation step, the public is advised to remain calm and purchase fuel according to normal daily needs, as the availability of supply at gas stations remains well-maintained,” he said.
Amidst the increasing rhythm of distribution, Putiastra ensured that occupational safety standards remain the top priority. Facing a logistics cycle that demands high vigilance, the company monitors the operational conditions of personnel in the field.
“The smoothness of distribution is balanced with structured work rotation, namely a scheme of two days on duty and one full day off,” he said.
This operational pattern aims to maintain the stamina of the crew while preventing the risk of fatigue. As a standard operating procedure, all personnel are also required to undergo health checks (fit to work) before starting delivery cycles.
This series of logistics operations is part of Elnusa Petrofin’s core business activities in energy distribution management, including the transportation of fuel from depots to customer points and the management of gas station facilities.
