Pesanggrahan Civil Service Police Unit removes 40 banners and billboards
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Pesanggrahan Subdistrict, South Jakarta, has conducted the removal of 40 banners and billboards to preserve the city’s aesthetics. “In line with the leadership’s instructions, after Eid al-Fitr, banners or billboards installed along the roadsides must be cleared,” said the Head of the Pesanggrahan Subdistrict Civil Service Police Unit, Rina Sofyani, in Jakarta on Thursday. Rina stated that the removal was carried out to maintain the neatness and cleanliness of public spaces. She explained that since Saturday (28/3) until the deadline today, her team has removed 40 banners and billboards of various sizes. The focus areas for the removal include main roads such as Jalan Kostrad Raya, Jalan M Saidi, Jalan Veteran, and Jalan Bintaro Permai. “We deployed 29 personnel, distributed across each ward. All banners, billboards, and related equipment are temporarily secured at the respective ward offices,” she said. Meanwhile, one resident, Nur Mukhmin (46), appreciated the Pesanggrahan Subdistrict Civil Service Police Unit’s efforts in removing banners and billboards, particularly in the Petukangan Selatan area. According to him, the installation of banners and billboards for Eid al-Fitr greetings is still understandable, but they should not be left up for too long as it can disrupt the environmental beauty. “Very good, the environment looks neat again without any banners and billboards,” he said.
