Jakarta — Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (Peruri), the state-owned currency printing company, has received three awards at the Indonesia Fire Safety Excellence Award (IFSEA) 2026 for its fire protection system.

Gandung Anggoro Murdani, Peruri’s Director of Human Resources, Technology and Information, stated that as a company entrusted with a strategic state mandate, Peruri is not only required to maintain operational reliability, but also to ensure that every process meets the highest safety standards.

“We therefore continue to strengthen our fire prevention and protection systems, enhance the readiness of our emergency response teams, and cultivate a safety culture as part of the core values for all Peruri personnel,” said Gandung in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that the company has integrated fire protection systems with operational management in the security industry, which demands high standards of safety, reliability and operational continuity.

These efforts have resulted in three awards: Fire Safety Excellence Award–High Security Manufacturing Sector, Innovation in Fire Safety Technology Award, and Safe Building Management & Fire Protection System Award.

Peruri has emphasised that this protection has been built comprehensively from the policy level through to technical implementation in the field.

The active and passive fire protection infrastructure the company has constructed includes five hydrant pump units, 108 hydrant pillars, 154 building hydrant systems, and 2,871 sprinkler heads.

Additionally, the company operates two fire trucks with capacities of 3,000 and 10,000 litres, 859 portable fire extinguishers (APAR), and thousands of smoke and heat detectors that are integrated into the system.

The company also ensures evacuation routes by providing 117 emergency exits that are directly connected to evacuation routes and assembly points in each building.

Gandung confirmed that all systems are operational through regular maintenance and periodic testing.

From a human resources perspective, Peruri has developed an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) that encompasses preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery phases in a systematic manner.
