PERURI Launches Chip Design Sandbox to Foster Talent Development
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The state-owned enterprise Perusahaan Umum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (PERURI) has launched the Merah Putih Chip Design Sandbox, a digital testing space designed to support the development of talent and semiconductor design capabilities in Indonesia.
In a written statement in Jakarta on Friday, PERURI President Director Teguh Arief Indratmoko stated that the company is committed to providing the highest security standards to protect the nation’s strategic documents and data from cyber threats through independent chip design. Furthermore, the launch of the chip initiative aims to improve foreign exchange efficiency and strengthen Indonesia’s position within the global semiconductor ecosystem.
“The launch of the Merah Putih Chip Design Sandbox is a strategic step towards strengthening digital sovereignty and national security,” said Teguh.
The platform allows students, researchers, industry players, and startups to study, experiment, and create chip designs and prototypes via a web browser free of charge. In addition to supporting the needs of academics and researchers, the platform provides opportunities for industry players and startups to create digital prototypes before committing to large-scale investments in physical production.
Consequently, the launch of the Merah Putih Chip Design Sandbox is expected to serve as a vital momentum for strengthening synergy between State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the government, academia, and industry. PERURI hopes this step will manifest the company’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty from within the country.
“Through this inclusive digital experimentation space, PERURI invites all of Indonesia’s young talent to begin learning and contributing directly to designing the future and upholding the nation’s technological sovereignty,” added Teguh.
