Perumka sees revenue up

JAKARTA (JP): The state railway company, Perumka, has projected that its revenue for this year will be Rp 766 billion (US$316.79 million), Rp 193 billion more than its revenue last year of Rp 663 billion.

Perumka public relations official, Helmy Azis, said the company also expected to improve on its last year's profit of Rp 17.5 billion.

"The increase will come from an additional cargo service," Helmy said.

Perumka had just begun its Antaboga express freight service between Surabaya and Jakarta, he said. The train can hold up to 16 containers.

He said Perumka planned to run two more cargo trains in Sumatra.

Perumka carried about 18.5 million tons of cargo last year. It hopes to carry more than 21.6 tons this year. (02)
