Perumdam TKR Deploys Water Supply to Support Firefighting at Tangerang Landfill

The Tangerang Regency-owned water company, Perusahaan Umum Daerah Air Minum Tirta Kerta Raharja (Perumdam TKR), has ensured the availability of water supply to support firefighting operations at the Jatiwaringin Final Processing Site (TPA). This measure reflects Perumdam TKR’s commitment to emergency disaster response by providing the necessary water supply during the extinguishing process. The municipally-owned enterprise deployed 10 clean water tanker trucks on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. The entire fleet was stationed around the site to supply water for the firefighting teams throughout the handling operation. In addition to deploying tanker fleet assistance, Perumdam TKR also ensured the smooth operation of the firefighting effort. To make it easier for firefighters to obtain water supplies quickly, Perumdam TKR opened a washout (WO) access point, a pipeline drainage point located closest to the incident site. The opening of this WO line is intended to prevent fire engines from having to travel long distances to refill their tanks. It is hoped that the firefighting teams can access water more easily, making the process of extinguishing and cooling the fire area more effective and efficient. For Perumdam TKR, maintaining the stability of the water supply around the fire location is a top priority that must be addressed, given the conditions on the ground due to the flammable landfill material. Perumdam TKR’s readiness to be present and collaborate with various related parties at the Jatiwaringin TPA is expected to provide tangible support in accelerating the fire handling. This step also reinforces Perumdam TKR’s commitment, which is not only focused on clean water distribution services to the public but also responsive in disaster management within the Tangerang Regency. Perumdam TKR also continues to coordinate with the local government, firefighting officers, and other relevant parties to ensure that water support in the field is properly channelled.
