Perum LKBN ANTARA uses woven bamboo baskets for sacrificial meat distribution in Palu
PALU (ANTARA) – Perum LKBN ANTARA’s Central Sulawesi Bureau has adopted woven bamboo baskets to distribute sacrificial meat, reducing plastic bag usage during the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Adha celebrations.
‘We provide kamboti, woven bamboo baskets for wrapping sacrificial meat, as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bags,’ said Andilala, Head of Perum LKBN ANTARA’s Central Sulawesi Bureau, in Palu on Wednesday.
He added that the distribution was carried out in the Adat Salena area of Palu.
‘This year, Perum LKBN ANTARA slaughtered eight goats, two of which were distributed in Salena, Palu,’ he stated.
‘The Salena 3 community in Buluri Village, Ulujadi District, Palu, continues to uphold traditional customs. Using kamboti is beneficial as it is eco-friendly and prevents environmental pollution,’ said Haerul.
He noted that kamboti or besek biodegrades quickly once discarded.
‘Typically, kamboti is used in local customary activities, but today we see it being used for distributing sacrificial meat,’ he added.
Perum LKBN ANTARA distributed eight goats to four regions across Indonesia: Palu in Central Sulawesi, Batang Regency in Central Java, Bengkulu, and the Insan Cerdas Sejahtera Foundation.
