Perum Jasa Tirta 2 Clarifies CCTV Coverage in Jatiluhur Dam Security Guard Murder Case

Perum Jasa Tirta 2 (PJT 2) Jatiluhur has dismissed statements from the police and West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi regarding the absence of CCTV at the location where a security guard was found dead. As the manager of the Jatiluhur Dam, PJT 2 claims that 27 CCTV cameras have been installed across the site. PJT 2 Managing Director Imam Santoso, after visiting the family home, stated that the 27 operational CCTV cameras are spread out and focused on the dam’s vital strategic assets. He noted that three units located in the Ubrug area have been seized by the police as part of the investigation. “We have installed 27 operational CCTV surveillance cameras that record activities in the dam’s vital strategic object area, but the incident location was outside the monitoring range of the cameras, approximately 2 kilometres away,” Imam Santoso said on Thursday (30/7). Meanwhile, Purwakarta Regent Saepul Bahri Binzein, who also visited the family home, expressed full support for the police investigation and prosecution efforts so that the cause of Sumarna’s death can be swiftly uncovered. “I fully support the police’s efforts so that this case and its perpetrators are quickly revealed,” said Saepul Bahri Binzein. Sumarna’s family has received compensation from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan amounting to Rp418,133,773. Member of Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, also visited the family home. The West Java Regional Police have deployed a joint team to assist the Purwakarta Resort Police in the investigation.
