Blora (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog’s President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani has affirmed that Bulog is committed to absorbing the entire corn crop production in Blora Regency, Central Java, for both livestock feed and bioethanol needs. “Our commitment is also to support farmers and maintain national food stability,” he stated during the Quarter I Corn Harvest and Quarter II Simultaneous Corn Planting event in Randublatung sub-district, Blora Regency, on Friday. He directly observed the extraordinary enthusiasm of Blora’s farmers, thus reiterating his commitment to absorb all of their production yields. Regarding the opportunities for corn commodities, he noted that the national demand for bioethanol alone is very substantial, estimated at 3.2 million tonnes of corn. At today’s harvest event, covering 15 hectares with a productivity of seven tonnes per hectare, he said it demonstrates the great potential for corn development in Blora, becoming a source of pride for all parties. “Bulog will continue to be present as an off-taker (buyer) to ensure that farmers’ harvests are well absorbed,” he added. Attendees at the event included Blora Regent Arief Rohman, Kopassus Commander Lieutenant General TNI Djon Afriandi, Director General of Food Crops from the Ministry of Agriculture RI Yudi Sastro, the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of Blora, the local military district commander and police chief, as well as the farmers.
