Pertina aims 4 SEAG golds

SEMARANG (JP): The Indonesian Amateur Boxing Association (Pertina) is aiming to win four golds in the 2001 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Pertina deputy training director, Ferry Moniaga, said Saturday that to fulfill the ambition, the association has prepared training programs including to send athletes for overseas stints prior to the event.

Boxers will also compete in the Agung Cup Championships in Kuala Lumpur from Nov. 16 to Nov. 18, Chinese Taipei Open in Kaoshiung, Taipei, from Dec. 1 to Dec.7 and the Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia, from May 19 to May 26.

Pertina has been grooming 28 boxers in its centralized training program for the Games. (har)
