Pertamina's UMiMAX Programme Targets 1,000 Additional Beneficiaries
PT Pertamina (Persero) is continuing to develop its UMiMAX (Ultra Mikro Pertamina Aksi) programme, an economic empowerment initiative aimed at helping economically vulnerable groups — particularly informal workers, contract teachers, persons with disabilities and pre-prosperous communities — to build or develop ultra-micro businesses.
Pertamina has officially launched the UMiMAX Batch 2026 programme, opened by Pertamina’s Chief Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan together with the Board of Commissioners, and President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri along with the company’s directors at Pertamina’s head office in Jakarta on Friday (10 July).
The move reaffirms Pertamina’s commitment to making a tangible contribution to community empowerment and supporting local economies.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, explained that the programme provides not only business equipment assistance but also mentoring, training and business capacity strengthening so that beneficiaries can build more independent and sustainable sources of income.
“Pertamina is opening registration for UMiMAX Batch 2026 with a target of reaching up to 1,000 beneficiaries across various regions of Indonesia,” Baron said.
Previously, in 2025, the UMiMAX programme distributed a total of Rp 1.17 billion in assistance and created 168 new businesses in the motorbike taxi (Kopling), food stall (Warmindo) and Mini ATM sectors. In economic terms, the programme generated total turnover of around Rp 2.7 billion between January and April 2026, with business margins of approximately Rp 858 million.
Rahmadi, one of the UMiMAX partners, said the programme had greatly helped him support his family’s finances.
“I am grateful to Pertamina for helping me through this programme. I used to work in a café, sometimes as a motorbike taxi driver, sometimes as a construction labourer. I hope it becomes a blessing and brings success to Pertamina — thank you very much,” he said.
Similar benefits have been felt by Suwandi, a disabled beneficiary (Sobat Istimewa) who was also selected as a UMiMAX partner. After receiving assistance from the programme, he plans to realise his dream of expanding his chicken noodle business by selling beverages.
“I started out selling chicken noodles, and I wanted to sell coffee and drinks. Thank God I got this opportunity by joining UMiMAX,” Suwandi said.
Nuryani, a resident of Cipinang Besar Selatan in Jakarta, has also grown a business that she initially ran on a small scale from her home.
“I used to do small-scale trading from home. Thank God, thanks to this programme I can trade and increase my income,” she said.
The UMiMAX programme continues to expand. According to Baron, for 2026 the target beneficiaries will cover the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), West Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi and North Sumatra.

“All applicants will go through a selection process involving staged verification based on the established terms and criteria. The entire UMiMAX registration and selection process is free of charge,” Baron said.
Selected beneficiaries will receive assistance in the form of business equipment, ongoing business mentoring and business management skills training for six months, from August 2026 to January 2027. The form and type of assistance will be tailored to the type of business chosen by each successful applicant.
“We hope the UMiMAX programme will have a major impact in helping communities. This reflects Pertamina’s spirit of continuing to spread positive energy to many parties,” Baron concluded.
