Pertamina's UMiMAX Programme Targets 1,000 Additional Beneficiaries

PT Pertamina (Persero) is continuing to develop its UMiMAX (Ultra Mikro Pertamina Aksi) programme, an economic empowerment initiative aimed at assisting economically vulnerable communities, particularly informal workers, contract teachers, people with disabilities, and underprivileged individuals, to build or develop ultra-micro enterprises. Pertamina has resumed the UMiMAX Batch 2026 programme, officially launched by Pertamina’s President Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan alongside the Board of Commissioners and President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri with the Board of Directors at Pertamina’s headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (10/7). This underscores Pertamina’s commitment to making a tangible contribution to community empowerment and supporting the grassroots economy. Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, explained that the programme not only provides business equipment assistance but also mentorship, training, and business capacity building so that beneficiaries can build more independent and sustainable sources of income. ‘Pertamina has opened registration for UMiMAX Batch 2026 with a target of reaching up to 1,000 beneficiaries across various regions in Indonesia,’ Baron stated. Previously, in 2025, the UMiMAX programme disbursed a total of Rp 1.17 billion in aid and spawned 168 new businesses in the fields of clutch repair, Warmindo (small food stalls), and Mini ATMs. The economic impact resulted in total turnover from January to April 2026 of approximately Rp 2.7 billion, with a business margin of around Rp 858 million. Rahmadi, a UMiMAX partner, admitted the programme had greatly helped support his family’s economy. ‘I thank Pertamina for helping me through this programme. Previously, I worked in a café, sometimes as an online motorcycle taxi driver, sometimes as a construction labourer. I hope it brings blessings and smoothness for Pertamina, thank you very much,’ he said. Similar benefits were felt by Suwandi, a person with a disability (Sobat Istimewa) who was also selected as a UMiMAX partner. After receiving assistance from Pertamina’s UMiMAX programme, he plans to realise his dream of expanding his chicken noodle business by selling beverages. ‘Initially I sold chicken noodles, I wanted to sell coffee and drinks. Alhamdulillah, I was blessed to join UMiMAX,’ Suwandi revealed. Likewise, Nuryani, a resident of Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jakarta, has expanded a business that was initially run on a small scale from home. ‘Previously I was just a small-scale trader at home. Alhamdulillah, thanks to this I can trade and increase my income,’ she said. The UMiMAX programme continues to be developed. According to Baron, for 2026 the target beneficiaries cover the areas of Greater Jakarta, West Java, Central Java & Yogyakarta, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and North Sumatra. Registration for UMiMAX Batch 2026 is conducted online via the official UMiMAX website. All applicants will undergo a selection process in the form of phased verification based on established terms and criteria. The entire registration and selection process for UMiMAX is free of charge. Selected beneficiaries will receive assistance in the form of business equipment, ongoing business mentorship, and business management skills training for a period of six months, from August 2026 to January 2027. The form and type of assistance are tailored to the chosen type of business and are based on the selection results of each applicant. ‘We hope the UMiMAX programme will have a significant impact in helping the community. This is a manifestation of Pertamina’s spirit to continuously spread positive energy to all parties,’ Baron concluded.
