Pertamina's Synergy Supports Safe and Energy-Efficient Free Homecoming Programme
PT Pertamina (Persero), together with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body (BP BUMN), contributed to the organisation of the 2026 Joint Homecoming Programme, which took place on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, appreciated the state-owned enterprises for organising the free homecoming event. He assessed that the effort is proof of the state’s presence in providing the best services to the public.
“And this is a collective endeavour; the President of the Republic of Indonesia has stated that if we can provide the best services to the public, it certainly shows that the state and government are present for them,” said Agus Harimurti.
On the same occasion, the Head of BP BUMN, Dony Oskaria, stated that the Free Homecoming Programme by State-Owned Enterprises is a tangible manifestation of the state-owned enterprises’ commitment to be present and provide direct benefits to the public, especially during important moments like Eid al-Fitr. Through this programme, the state, via state-owned enterprises, also helps the public realise safer and more comfortable homecoming journeys.
“The Free Homecoming Programme by State-Owned Enterprises is a manifestation of gotong royong and the state-owned enterprises’ care for the public. We want to ensure that the public can undertake homecoming journeys more safely, comfortably, and successfully, while also helping to reduce traffic density during the Eid period,” said Dony.
He added that the increasing number of participants each year indicates the high trust and enthusiasm of the public towards this programme. According to him, in addition to helping the public homecoming without being burdened by transportation costs, this programme is also expected to help reduce traffic congestion and improve travel safety during the Eid homecoming period.
“We hope that all participants can arrive at their hometowns safely and celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families in a safe and comfortable manner,” he said.
As part of the state-owned enterprises, Pertamina’s participation in the government-organised joint homecoming programme is a manifestation of the company’s commitment to supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable public mobility.
Pertamina’s Corporate Secretary, Arya Dwi Paramita, stated that this programme is part of Pertamina’s support for government efforts in promoting orderly homecoming journeys that are more energy-efficient and help reduce traffic congestion during the Eid homecoming period.
“Pertamina actively participates in three homecoming programmes, namely the Pertamina Joint Homecoming managed independently by the company, and two government synergistic homecoming programmes, namely the Energy Sector Joint Homecoming and the Free Homecoming by State-Owned Enterprises. Overall, Pertamina has prepared 167 bus fleets to support the smooth travel of the public to more than 25 destination cities,” said Arya.
Arya added that the 2026 Pertamina Joint Homecoming was held on 15 March 2026 at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta. Meanwhile, participation in the Energy Sector Joint Homecoming programme and the Free Homecoming by State-Owned Enterprises was held on 17 March 2026 in Jakarta.
According to Arya, the joint homecoming programme also encourages the use of more efficient and environmentally friendly collective transportation. “Through joint journeys, fuel consumption can be reduced, making it more energy-efficient while contributing to the reduction of exhaust gas emissions. This aligns with Pertamina’s commitment to supporting low-carbon mobility and is in line with the government’s efforts in the clean energy transition in Indonesia,” added Arya.
He further noted that collaboration with various parties, including the Ministry of ESDM, BP BUMN, and support from other state-owned enterprises, is key to the success of organising the homecoming programme.
“We hope that all homecomers can arrive at their hometowns safely, celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families, and return in a healthy and joyful condition.”
Through support for the 2026 Joint Homecoming Programme, Pertamina reaffirms its commitment to supporting the smooth flow of national homecoming while promoting more efficient and environmentally friendly energy use during the Eid al-Fitr period.
