PT Pertamina (Persero) has recorded renewable energy (EBT) electricity production reaching 8,743 gigawatt hours (GWh) by 2025. This achievement strengthens national electricity resilience amid global energy dynamics. The clean electricity production is supported by renewable power plants with a total installed capacity of 3.1 gigawatts (GW). This development is part of a low-carbon business strategy, as well as a response to fluctuations in energy prices and global supply uncertainties. Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that the development of clean energy continues to be strengthened to maintain the reliability of the national electricity system. β€œIn the midst of highly dynamic global energy dynamics, the development of renewable new energy is a strategic step to strengthen national energy resilience while ensuring the sustainability of electricity supply for the community,” said Baron in Jakarta on Thursday (16/4/2026). These efforts are carried out through energy source diversification to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. This step is considered important given the high volatility in the global energy market. EBT development is also aimed at reducing risks from price fluctuations and global energy supply disruptions. Pertamina positions the energy mix as the main instrument in maintaining the stability of the national energy system.
