PERTAMINA is urging the public to use energy wisely and in accordance with needs. Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that the company has taken various steps to maintain fuel and oil (BBM) services and supplies.

During this Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period, Pertamina has prepared all energy infrastructure, from upstream sectors and fully operational refineries to downstream sectors on 24-hour standby.

“We project an increase in BBM and LPG consumption. However, Pertamina hopes that the public will join in conserving energy use by being thrifty and according to needs, in line with the government’s appeal,” Baron said in his statement on Wednesday (18/3).

Pertamina has also been actively running the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force since 9 March until 1 April. The formation of this task force is to ensure the availability and smooth distribution of energy amid rising needs during Ramadan and high mobility during the Eid exodus and return flows.

“During the task force period, the Pertamina Group will be on 24-hour standby to meet the energy needs of the Indonesian people,” he said.

Previously, Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Deputy Director Taufik Aditiyawarman mentioned that nationally, Pertamina has prepared substantial energy distribution infrastructure to face the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period.

This infrastructure includes 2,420 General Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) operating 24 hours, as well as 6,300 standby LPG agents spread across various regions. In addition, there are 200 tanker trucks prepared as reserve supply pockets for BBM, as well as Pertamina Standby Fuel & Kiosk services at 64 points.

“Specifically for the West Java region (West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten), Pertamina is also preparing various additional services spread along toll roads, tourist area routes, and main cross routes. These services include 427 SPBU operating 24 hours, 2,180 standby LPG agents, and 206 Elpiji Bulk Filling Stations (SPBE),” he said.

To anticipate energy distribution in congested traffic conditions, in West Java, Pertamina has also prepared 52 units of Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) using motorbikes, 563 Bright Gas agents, and 62 tanker trucks ready to support energy distribution if there is a surge in demand. To serve travellers, Pertamina has also prepared 11 MyPertamina Serambi at several strategic points.
