PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to support the development of its fostered micro and small enterprises (UMK) as part of the company’s contribution to implementing its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) obligations through the Pertamina UMK Academy 2026 programme.

The regional phase of the development series began on Friday (18/9) via the Downstream Subholding, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus. This inaugural activity was attended by 217 UMK entrepreneurs from East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara who successfully passed the curation and selection process.

Carrying the theme “Energy for Advanced UMK”, the programme provides training and mentorship for business owners across various sectors, ranging from food and beverages, fashion, and crafts to beauty and personal care.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Muhammad Baron, stated that in addition to conducting business operations as a national energy company, Pertamina also contributes directly to activities that involve and impact society, including through its TJSL programme.

“Through the Pertamina UMK Academy 2026, we are providing a boost in line with the spirit of ‘Energy for Advanced UMK’. Strengthening business foundations and receiving guidance from accelerators is expected to help our fostered UMKs become more competitive and ready to scale up,” said Baron.

The Pertamina UMK Academy was first initiated in 2020 as part of Pertamina’s TJSL programme. Over the past six years, the programme has mentored thousands of UMKs through training, business challenges, marketing practices, coaching, strengthening legality and certification, as well as facilitating market access.
