Pertamina to Add 710,000 3kg LPG Cylinders in Central Java

Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah is adding 710,160 LPG cylinders to the supply in Central Java to anticipate increased public demand during Ramadan 1447 H.

“The additional 710,160 cylinders will be distributed gradually starting today until next week and will continue to be evaluated according to developments in the field,” said Area Manager Communication, Relations and CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah, Taufiq Kurniawan, in a statement in Yogyakarta, Wednesday.

Taufiq explained that the additional supply is an “extra dropping” or distribution outside the established daily regular allocation.

This policy was taken based on a joint evaluation with local governments following a trend of increasing consumption of 3kg LPG during Ramadan.

According to him, the additional supply strengthens stocks at official distribution points so that the public can still obtain 3kg LPG at the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the government.

Taufiq appealed to the public to buy subsidized LPG at official distribution points to get the price according to the HET.

The public is also asked not to buy LPG at prices that soar above the HET to avoid sales practices by irresponsible parties.

Buying at official distribution points, according to Taufiq, is the simplest way to ensure that prices remain in accordance with the provisions, namely Rp18,000 per cylinder.

“On average, in each village or sub-district, there are nine to 10 official 3kg LPG distribution points that have been registered and monitored, so that public access to subsidized LPG remains maintained,” said Taufiq.
