Pertamina to Add 5.8 Million 3 kg LPG Canisters During Long Holiday

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Pertamina Patra Niaga is increasing the distribution of 3 kilogram (kg) LPG canisters by 5.8 million units to meet public demand during the Ascension Day long holiday from 14th to 17th May 2026.

Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, said that the increase in distribution is being carried out to anticipate an increase in household LPG consumption during the long holiday period.

The additional supply will be distributed gradually across various regions, taking into account consumption trends and public needs during the holiday period.

He added that the public is also encouraged to purchase 3 kg LPG canisters for their intended use and not to make excessive purchases so that distribution can be evenly distributed and targeted effectively.

Roberth emphasised that 3 kg LPG is a subsidised product intended for low-income people, micro-enterprises, target fishermen, and target farmers.

“We encourage the public who can afford it to use non-subsidised Bright Gas so that energy subsidies are more targeted,” he said.
