Pertamina Targets Expansion of E5 Pertamax Green Fuel to Six Cities
PT Pertamina (Persero) is targeting the expansion of its 5% bioethanol blend (E5) in petrol, known as Pertamax Green (RON 95), to six cities in 2026. The plan was disclosed during a meeting between Pertamina directors and the Head of BP BUMN, who also serves as Danantara COO, Dony Oskaria, in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/6/2026).
The meeting also evaluated other strategic projects, including Pertamina’s commitment to accelerate the development of bioavtur in 2026. BP BUMN and Danantara COO Dony Oskaria urged the acceleration of Pertamina’s field projects as a tangible effort to support the national energy downstream programme.
As of June 2026, Pertamina has operated 178 filling stations selling Pertamax Green (E5) for RON 95. The initiative will be followed by the expansion of the E5 implementation to RON 92 petrol (Pertamax) starting in July 2026. The synergy between BP BUMN, Danantara, and Pertamina aims not only to provide financial benefits but also to strategically reduce petrol imports, create new jobs, and build sustainable national energy resilience.
