Pertamina Takes Firm Action Against AMT for Safety Procedure Violation
PT Pertamina (Persero), through its subsidiary Pertamina Patra Niaga, has responded swiftly to a social media post showing a tanker crew member (AMT) smoking whilst operating a tanker truck. An investigation revealed the driver was a crew member from a partner transport company servicing a Bulk LPG Filling and Transport Station (SPPBE). Following the safety procedure violation, the partner transport company took firm action by dismissing the driver concerned. VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, stated that the measure is part of disciplinary enforcement and guidance regarding compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) aspects, which are absolute in all operational activities. “Safety is a non-negotiable principle. This firm action is part of disciplinary enforcement and coaching so that every worker and partner understands that compliance with HSSE procedures must be carried out consistently in every operational activity,” said Kitty. Pertamina Patra Niaga appreciates the public’s concern in providing information. Every report serves as important input to continuously strengthen the safety culture across the entire energy distribution chain.
