JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga supports the firm actions of law enforcement agencies in uncovering the rampant practices of misusing subsidised fuel (BBM) and LPG in various regions.

This support follows the revelation of cases by the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) from 7-20 April 2026 in several areas of Indonesia. A total of 330 individuals have been named as suspects in 223 incidents.

This enforcement is deemed crucial to ensure that the distribution of subsidised energy remains on target and accessible to entitled communities.

Eko Ricky Susanto, Director of Retail Marketing at Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that the company fully supports the law enforcement measures taken by Bareskrim Polri to maintain optimal distribution of subsidised energy.

“Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to collaborate with law enforcement agencies. We are also committed to conducting oversight and ensuring the distribution of subsidised BBM and LPG in accordance with regulations, fairly, and targeted at communities that deserve them,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

Pertamina Patra Niaga is also strengthening oversight of distribution institutions through coaching and enforcement.

In the January-March 2026 period, the company has conducted 136 coaching sessions for BBM distribution institutions and 237 for LPG distribution institutions, both at fuel stations (SPBU) and LPG agents.

“If a proven legal violation occurs, we will terminate the business relationship (PHU) with that distribution institution,” he added.

Pertamina Patra Niaga urges the public to always purchase BBM at official SPBU and LPG at official depots or agents with green signs, and to use energy wisely according to needs.

The methods employed include purchasing subsidised BBM and LPG, then transferring, hoarding, mixing, and reselling at industrial prices to profit from price disparities.

Nunung stated that law enforcement will be carried out comprehensively without favouritism. According to her, anyone involved, including rogue officials, will be firmly dealt with to create a deterrent effect.

“Polri will not give the slightest room to energy crime perpetrators. We must ensure that every rupiah of state subsidy truly reaches the entitled communities,” she emphasised.
