Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ery Ridwan, Head of Communication, Relations, CID & CSR at PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), emphasised Pertamina’s commitment to supporting the higher education ecosystem for in-depth study of the upstream oil and natural gas (migas) sector. “PHE ONWJ is always open to sharing knowledge and real operational experience with academics,” Ery stated in an official release received in Jakarta on Friday. This support is manifested through Pertamina hosting a field visit for 23 students from various universities across Indonesia at the Onshore Receiving Facility (ORF) in Muara Karang, Jakarta. The visit forms part of the Pipeline Design Competition (PDC) activities during the Mechanical Festival (M-Fest) 2026, initiated by the Mechanical Engineering Student Association at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). M-Fest is an annual festival organised by ITB’s undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students, featuring activities and competitions centred on innovations aligned with their field of study. One such competition is the PDC. M-Fest 2026 Organising Committee Chair Rafi Akbar Maulana noted that PHE ONWJ’s facilities align with their competition’s focus. “We chose PHE ONWJ because it is one of the strategic national energy companies with operational facilities and pipeline systems relevant to the PDC field, allowing participants to gain more applicable learning experiences,” Rafi said.
