Pertamina Supports Fuel Efficiency and Emission Reduction Through This Programme
PT Pertamina (Persero) has shown its commitment to supporting government programmes by offering free mudik return transportation services to Jakarta. This activity is part of the routine Mudik Bareng Pertamina 2026 programme, designed to ensure smooth mobility during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr period while promoting comfortable and efficient public transportation.
Under the main theme of Energy for Stepping Forward with Full Hope, for the return flow, Pertamina transported more than 900 participants back to Jakarta from four assembly points: Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Cirebon, on 28 March 2026.
In detail, from Yogyakarta, more than 300 returnees were sent off in an event led by Mahfud Nadio Hantoro, Sales Area Retail Yogyakarta of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, at the Mandala Krida Yogyakarta Station.
Mahfud stated that this programme not only supports public mobility but also reflects the spirit of collaborative travel that is more orderly and fuel-efficient.
“This is one form of appreciation for the mudik participants and returnees. It also serves as an alternative for mass transportation, reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency,” Mahfud told CNBC Indonesia, quoted on Thursday (2/4/2026).
Mahfud hopes this activity brings joy to the participants. The programme is also designed to ensure maximum comfort and safety for returnees. For instance, the mudik fleet is guaranteed to be safe, equipped with GPS, first aid kits, and monitored in real time.
It does not stop there; drivers are ensured to be in prime condition, and each bus is accompanied by special personnel.
“The buses have been inspected, and drivers’ stamina is ensured to guarantee that returnees arrive back in Jakarta safely,” Mahfud explained.
It is no wonder that this programme has been well-received by the returnees to Jakarta. Nano, one of the returnees, expressed that Pertamina’s programme is extraordinary, and they are satisfied with the services provided.
“We were well-served, welcomed, assisted, and received packages of food and medicines,” he said.
Besides Nano, Sri Astuti felt the same satisfaction, especially since their outbound mudik to their hometown also went smoothly.
During the outbound mudik flow, Pertamina transported 5,000 returnees with 153 bus fleets to 23 destinations. Pertamina plays a key role in ensuring orderly and efficient mudik journeys.
