The readiness of the sea logistics fleet is a key factor in ensuring that energy distribution reaches all regions of Indonesia.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a downstream subholding of Pertamina, is optimising national energy distribution to reach island areas and remote, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions that face unique geographical challenges using its sea logistics fleet.

“Energy distribution in Indonesia faces diverse geographical challenges. Therefore, we continue to maintain the readiness of our sea logistics fleet so that energy supply can reach various regions, including island areas and 3T regions, in a sustainable manner,” said Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo, in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday.

As an archipelagic nation, he explained, Indonesia has unique energy distribution characteristics, where access to various regions is not always possible via land routes.

In this context, he stated that the sea logistics fleet serves as the main connector ensuring that energy can be channelled from supply points to various destination regions across Indonesia.

This fleet serves distribution to 57 3T regions scattered throughout Indonesia, from Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, to Papua.

“The readiness of the sea logistics fleet is a key factor in ensuring that energy distribution reaches all regions of Indonesia,” he said.

The presence of the vessel fleet in the captive business management of the Downstream Subholding plays a role in ensuring the smooth distribution of energy from supply sources to various regions of Indonesia, including areas with limited access.

With this support, energy can still be channelled to support community activities and the economy in those areas.

All energy distribution activities are carried out with strict HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards to ensure operational safety while maintaining the reliability of national energy distribution.

Through integrated management of the sea logistics fleet, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to support national energy distribution to reach all regions of Indonesia, from major cities to island areas and 3T regions.
