PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi continues its massive push to expand the distribution of the environmentally friendly B50 biodiesel fuel across the entire island of Sulawesi. This strategic step reflects the company’s tangible commitment to supporting government policy on strengthening national energy security whilst optimising the use of New and Renewable Energy (EBT).

Distribution of B50 biodiesel is being carried out in stages across all of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Sulawesi operational areas, prioritising supply chain readiness, terminal infrastructure reliability and stock availability. The strategy aims to ensure the energy transition proceeds smoothly without disrupting the public’s energy needs.

As of mid-July 2026, all of the Main Terminals of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, located in Makassar, Bitung, Baubau and Donggala, are ready and actively serving B50 biodiesel distribution. Expansion to other Fuel Terminals and End Terminals continues to be accelerated in line with supply schedules and each unit’s operational readiness.

As of 22 July 2026, the public can already enjoy B50 biodiesel at 590 petrol stations spread across the six provinces of Sulawesi.

Pertamina has assured that the number of distribution points will continue to grow as the integration of the distribution chain at all supply terminals is completed. To guarantee safety, Pertamina applies strict oversight, from product quality control to the reliability of the digital distribution system.

Lilik Hardiyanto, Area Manager of Communication, Relations and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, emphasised that this expansion is an important pillar in supporting the national clean energy transition target.

“We are carrying out the expansion of B50 biodiesel distribution in stages, carefully weighing the infrastructure readiness in each region. Pertamina ensures all implementation complies with strict operational standards so that product quality is maintained and distribution runs smoothly,” Lilik explained in a press statement on Thursday (23 July).

Lilik added that the programme’s success is the result of cross-sector synergy with regulators and regional governments. “Collaboration is key. We continue to monitor the process on the ground to ensure service to the public remains at its best,” he added.

Through this initiative, Pertamina Pata Niaga Regional Sulawesi reinforces its active role in driving the economy in the transport, industrial and micro-enterprise sectors through a greener and more sustainable energy supply.
