Pertamina Strengthens Synergy for Energy and Food Security
Surabaya — PT Pertamina Hulu Energi and PT Pertamina EP Zones 7 and 11, subsidiaries of Pertamina in the upstream oil and gas sector, are stepping up efforts to support national energy security and maintain food security for public welfare.
This was demonstrated through an event titled ‘Spatial Harmonisation to Support Asta Cita for Energy and Food Security’, held in Surabaya on 18-19 May 2026, involving key stakeholders in western and eastern Java.
Attendees included Nanang Abdul Manaf, Chairman of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry’s Oil and Gas Production Acceleration Task Force; Lampri, Director General of Land and Spatial Control at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR/BPN); Anggono Mahendrawan, Head of SKK Migas’ Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (Jabanusa) Regional Office; Rachmat Hidajat, President Director of PT Pertamina EP; and Hermansyah Y. Nasroen, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi.
Key stakeholders involved in public policy, particularly land and regional management by communities and government, also participated actively. These included Majalengka Regent Eman Suherman, Cirebon Vice Regent Agus Kurniawan Budiman, and officials from the Agriculture, Public Works, and relevant departments across western and eastern Java.
In his address, Nanang Abdul Manaf of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry’s Oil and Gas Production Acceleration Task Force stated that achieving energy self-sufficiency requires integrated, coordinated, and systematic efforts involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure effective on-ground implementation.
PT Pertamina EP President Director Rachmat Hidajat expressed appreciation to attendees. ‘Thank you for your support and active participation throughout the event. We hope this initiative fosters collaborative synergy and shared understanding among all stakeholders, particularly in supporting upstream oil and gas activities to achieve national food and energy security under the Asta Cita,’ he said on 25 May 2026.
Similarly, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Corporate Secretary Hermansyah Y Nasroen stated the agenda is crucial to ensure strategic energy sector development aligns with agricultural interests, environmental sustainability, and public welfare.
‘We hope this event marks a positive step towards strengthening collaboration between the central and local governments, agriculture sector, and energy industry to achieve harmonious and sustainable national development,’ he added.
At the event’s conclusion, policies on land and spatial control were formulated. Participants from both central and local governments affirmed their commitment to supporting Pertamina’s activities, including resolving upstream oil and gas operational issues from policy formulation to on-ground technical execution in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
